Carballo por Etapas
Calvo tuna, bread from Carballo, locally grown potatoes, etc. The best local produce is on offer on this gastronomic tour. "Carballo por tapas" took place on the 27th - 29th May and 3rd - 5th of June and included 20 bars in the centre of town. For the last four years, the smell of the most wonderful tapas fills the streets of Carballo in springtime. For just 1.50 € you can enjoy the taste of great tapas. But there are also 940 direct prizes to be won with the scratch cards you get with each tapa you buy: hats, t-shirts, tapas, bottles of wine and Vermouth, sets of wine glasses, etc.
Timetable for sampling the tapas: Fridays from 20:00 to 22:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00 and 20:00 to 22:00.
The event starts on Friday the 27th of May at 18:30 with the tourist train stopping off at each of the participating outlets on the trail. Ever since the first edition of this gastro-festival, the tourist train has been making sure nobody misses out on their pinchos. It should be remembered that the tapas are served on Fridays from 20:00 to 22:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 to 14:00 and 20:00 to 22:00. Also, the event coincided with the International Street Art Festival - Rexenera Fest - and also with the local handball team push for promotion, along with many other sporting events. So, if you are visiting Carballo, do not forget to try the pinchos (tapas)!
