Roncudo Lighthouse

Roncudo Lighthouse

The lighthouse on Punta Roncudo is located in the village of Corme, in the municipality of Ponteceso. To get to the lighthouse there is a road of about 2 km length which starts at the end of the harbour. The small lighthouse is a twin of the one at Laxe.

The lighthouse was commissioned in 1920 and is set in a wild, phantasmagorical landscape. The name of this point (Roncudo means "snoring") comes from the sound that the sea makes as it crashes into the rocky cliffs. The strength of the breakers and the characteristics of the waters make the percebes from this area some of the tastiest in all of Galicia. Since 1992 they have celebrated a gastronomic festival to enjoy these curious barnacles in the month of July.
