Greeting from the President

Dear reader:

I, Manuel Muíño, was recently appointed as president of the Costa da Morte Tourism Association (CMAT), an opportunity that I receive with pride and with a view to the future, because of what we still have to do and because of the potential we have as a territory.

This body was established in May 2015 as a non-profit association with legal personality and full capacity to act that integrates the different local agents, both public and private. The municipalities of A Laracha, Cabana de Bergantiños, Camariñas, Carballo, Carnota, Cee, Corcubión, Dumbría, Fisterra, Laxe, Malpica de Bergantiños, Mazaricos, Muxía, Ponteceso, Vimianzo and Zas are currently members of the CMAT, associates in public representation, where The Association and Professionals of Tourism of Costa da Morte (APTCM) is also integrated in representation of the private tourism sector.

Our priority objective is none other than to promote and value tourism on the Costa da Morte, whatever the context and current scenario; project our image as a territory abroad as a quality destination, enhancing our cultural, architectural, archaeological and landscape value and the consequent economic impact that this has on the different cohesive locations in the CMAT.

In 2018 the Action Plan for Tourism of Costa da Morte 2019-2021 was designed, our management tool for the development and tourism management of the territory through the collaboration of all its agents involved. Its leadership corresponds to our entity, as the main management entity and the largest representation of the public and private tourism sector of the destination. We mainly have five challenges to respond to:

  • Be a tourist destination known and recognized for its quality.
  • Have a sustainable tourism development model at an economic, environmental and social level.
  • Achieve a better balance of tourist flows.
  • Have a cohesive tourism fabric.
  • Consolidate the Costa da Morte tourism brand at all levels: regional, national and international.

As president of the CMAT, I consider it essential to support the initiatives that are emerging today, such as the new challenges of nautical tourism, marine tourism or ornithological tourism, but always respecting tradition and our customs, which are part of our way of doing business. understand life. Cultural tourism, Camiño De Santiago, nature tourism and gastronomic tourism are fundamental pillars to jointly develop our strategy, moving towards a new way of understanding our world.

On this website you can find everything you need in the field of Tourism, as well as training courses, training sessions, information of interest for professionals and amateurs, information on the development of new tourism products or projects carried out in recent years on the Coast da Morte. These are actions always aimed at increasing the professionalization of the sector, promoting the quality of the tourist offer and collaborating with the local businessman.

As I said before, I take on this new occupation as an exciting challenge and with a lot of desire to be able to contribute to making, even bigger if possible, the entire Costa da Morte.

With all my affection,

Manuel Muíño,

President of the CMAT.
