The Costa da Morte in north-west Galicia is a region of cliffs and beautiful beaches. Some of the beaches are barren and untouched; others offer all the facilities you had expect on an urban beach. Whatever you are after, you will find a spot just for you, or maybe even an entire beach!

In this area, there are wild beaches with strong waves and winds and there is usually somewhere that you can catch some great waves. For lovers of surfing it is more than a sport, it is a way of life. On the Costa da Morte there are three main beaches to head to. But the beaches are not just for surfers: there are amazing sunsets, the extraordinary colours of the sky and so much more.

Razo beach in Carballo is open to the ocean and almost runs into Baldaio beach. It has fine white sand and powerful waves. It can get quite windy but even so, it is a popular spot with local surfers.A round of the Galician Open Surf and Bodyboard championships is held here.

If you are heading to the Costa da Morte and you want to give surfing a try, head to the surf school and surf camp Art Surf Camp on the beach. They usually have good offers or promotions on. They offer surf courses to all ages and abilities. They hold summer camps for kids and surf camps for adults. They offer classes at all levels, from complete beginner to technique perfection classes. And if you fancy trying something other than surf they offer complementaryactivities including yoga, skate, kitesurf, football, adventures and even English. There is certainly no excuse for being bored!
