The CMAT and the Costa da Morte municipal mayors support the Camiño dos Faros Association in consolidating it as a long-distance route

CMAT, as manager of the Costa da Morte geodestine, attended last Friday June 28, a meeting of the Camiño dos Faros Association in Vimianzo, which brought together all the mayors of the Costa da Morte town halls.

In this meeting, the current status of the homologation process was reported and the cleaning plan was presented in the towns which the Camino dos Faros goes by.

During the day, the benefits and implications of the homologation of the Camino dos Faros for the territories and for tourism on the Costa da Morte were explained.

The day ended with a commitment on the part of the territories involved in the Camino dos Faros and in the search for solutions for its regulation and homologation.

The CMAT supports this project since it shares its objectives with the Plan for Tourism of the Costa da Morte 2019-2021. The Camino dos Faros is one of the most important touristic destinations in the area, since it combines natural and cultural heritage, as well as material and immaterial what is identified as a clear opportunity for tourist development for Costa da Morte.

This route comprises a total of 200 kilometers divided into 8 stages that goes through Costa da Morte from Malpica to Fisterre by the seaside. Recently, the travel supplement of the Washington Post highlighted on its cover an article about this route, full of incalculable natural value and awesome landscapes.
